This is a problem.

I can never remember if I live on a Way or a Lane. (They kind of sound alike, right?) So when someone asks me my address, I say "45 Spaceship..."* and trail off awkwardly.

Usually it's okay, but then sometimes the person says, "Is that a Street? or a Lane? or what?"

And I say, ".... umm... a... Lane." And I hope I'm right, because there's NO WAY I'm telling them I don't know.

UPDATE: I looked it up on google maps, and I live on a Lane. I should make up a song to remember that. Please tell me if you know any songs about living on a Lane, not a Way.

---

*Not my real address. Just an example. But wouldn't it be cool if I lived on a street called Spaceship Way or Spaceship Lane?

I just think of a walk down memory lane. So, you can "remember" that you live on "memory" lane. :)

I can never remember the number parts of my address or phone number, so I understand your plight.

I have relatives that live on Starship Dr. I laugh every time I post something to them. And then promise myself to never ever live on a street with such a silly name.

The rain in Spain stays mainly in the Lane!

Memory Way, Drury Way (and you should go there), everyone knows that the rain of which Spain complains is mainly on the WAY. Oh, I'm not helping here am I.

The easiest thing to remember is "Spaceship Lane there is a barber taking photographs, of every head he's had a pleasure to remove"... oh wait... That's the demon barber of FLEET Lane isn't it. Anyway, Sven wins (and not just 'cause he's taller than you.) He wins because TODAY I received a phone call and the caller ID said "Penny Lane". I answered and it was a customer svc rep from our phone company. I didn't ask if it was a pen name (too obvious or too cruel and probably asked too often of her in any event.)

So what do you think, did she create the nom de plume? Did wicked parents do that to her? Did she marry into it? Could that prevent a marriage or courtship from ever getting off the ground? If he were Seth Bonnie would you have jilted him long before the bad ring jokes could have started? Or would a Seth Bani by ANY other name still smell as sweet?
