Did you ever see the ones at Provo Towne Centre that were like, sitting on the benches and stuff? Talk about creepy and (some other word I can't think of or) in the way.
I always think it's quite hilarious when you see people sitting by them, almost as if they want to BE the bronze statue. Particularly the one at Provo Towne Centre that has a bench that Julie referred to--sure, it's a bench and you can sit on it, but why pose next to the bronze people? Sheesh.
I am uncomfortable with the tone this conversation is taking. I think we should appreciate all bench-sitting statues, regardless of color. That way I am free to enjoy my Wal-Mart afternoons with the sitting Ronald McDonald statue. Seriously.
I am personally all for posing in the same position as a statue. Even if it's a seal, or a cupid. now THAT'S entertainment. especially when you get the whole family involved.
The statues that bother me the most are the ones in the Provo Town Center (which is how it SHOULD be spelled) by the Red Robin entrance... you know the ones? in the fountain? with the umbrella? ugliness personified. oh, and that one on Center Street in Provo with the children flying around the globe. we didn't need to see that.
Here in Boise there's one of Anne Frank leaning out of a window. She would NOT be pleased. they never make the children look natural. they look like aliens pretending to be children. creepy.
So, I popped on over from Julie's blog, but I saw her comment where she said she was going to send her blog stalkers over, so I figured it was cool.
Anyway, I'm going to do a post about this site one day, but you should check out www.photocliches.com
It's a site with pictures of people doing stupid photo cliches, like grabbing the crotch or breasts of the creepy aforementioned statues. LOL!! HEHEHEH!! :):):):) (I don't use LOL either, but I do the smilies so people know I'm not a total a-hole :))
Dani, thank you so much for that blog link. I feel the same way!
I actually really, really dislike the series, and I was hoping that my statement about statutory rape in my profile came across. But I don't think it does all the time, so I may need to change it.
I get people who come to my blog because they love Twilight, and then I feel bad.

You mean the ones with the out of date clothing on them? I've always considered those weird. Particularly the BYU ones.

Umm...I think there are some weird frog-people (fairytale-esque) statues at the Riverwoods. Blech!
This is the best entry ever. It reminds me of a poem by one of my favorite poets, Richard Brautigan.
